Is it safe on the stove?
Yes. It works on gas and electric stoves.
It is made from borosilicate glass and is heat safe up to 200°C. That is more than enough for chai, milk, soup, sauces and everyday cooking.
But it is still glass, so please handle it with care:
- Always add liquid before heating. Never heat an empty saucepan.
- Avoid sudden temperature changes. Do not put a hot saucepan under cold water, and do not put a cold saucepan straight on a high flame.
- Start on low or medium heat, then increase slowly.
- Protect it from knocks. A hard hit against the tap, the counter or another pot can crack it.
Follow these simple steps and it will last you a long time.
Good size for chai and guests
1.6 litres is a practical size. Enough for family chai in the morning, and enough when guests arrive. Also good for soup, sauces, milk, eggs and small portions of pasta.
